We are finally home! Elias is so precious.

So after the mix up the other day with Elias’s blood going for the wrong test, we finally got the results. Elias does have Downs Syndrome. After we got the news we did have a time to grieve for the hopes we had for our little one. That said, we still have lots of dreams for him, they just look a little different and we love him just the same as if the test’s results had come back that he didn’t ha...ve Downs Syndrome. Even though Elias has Downs Syndrome, we know God has big plans for this little guy. We love him to bits and trust we will be able to walk with others who may walk down this same road we have been on one day.

Please don’t feel sorry for us, but instead we do ask that you would continue to keep us in your prayers as we adjust to what we will need to do to move forward in this journey. We will have our ups and downs, but we look forward to our future with Elias. We love him so very much even though it’s only been almost a week since his birth.

We so much want to thank you all for walking with us to this point in our journey. The many prayers that have gone up on our behalf have not gone unanswered they have just been answered in a different way that may not be clear at this very moment. We were so blessed by friends that were so very willing to watch Summer as we were in the hospital as well and the meals we have received. We appreciate it all!

We praise God that right after Elias was born he nursed right away with no problems and continues till today. That alone has been a huge blessing. Also with regards to his hearing. We had thought Elias could not hear. Today we had another test and the results came back that his left ear at the moment can’t hear, but, his right ear can! With medicine today there is still hope for the left ear after some more testing to see exactly where the issue may lie. We were told that with infants many time these problems can be corrected because they are caught early.

With his heart we will be going in for some more testing at Women’s Hospital in Vancouver in the following weeks to see where we are at and what the next steps will be.

Thanks again for caring for us,

For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord,”plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:10-12
